EYFS

Thursday 28th February

Dear Parents and Carers,

Clothing and PE

PLEASE make sure that your child’s name is in all their clothing. We will be continuing to work outdoors so children need warm clothes including hats and gloves, and suitable footwear. We will be getting ready for PE this term and it is amazing how easily T-shirts, jumpers and trousers can get muddled!  Our PE sessions will now be on a Wednesday or Friday so children should keep their PE kit on their pegs for the half term (white t-shirt and black shorts/ leggings). They also need to be able to get themselves ready!

Reading Folders

Please bring reading folders every day. Reading books are changed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays giving you three opportunities to read and have the book changed. We will continue to send homework on a weekly basis. The maths busy bags go home fortnightly but we are having trouble getting them all back. There are only enough bags for one class so we need them all returned please. Each child will also get an opportunity to borrow a story bag. Thank you for your help with these.

Special Assemblies and WOW Celebrations

Reception will be joining in with the whole school celebrations for World Book Day (8th March) and Red Nose Day (15th March) both on Friday mornings at 9.00.

We will continue to try to have WOW celebrations on the same day as the main school on Fridays at 2.45 pm. The first one will be Friday 22nd March. If your child has any special certificates to bring in these can be shared at our WOWs.

Topic

Our starting interest this half term is ‘Elmer the Patchwork Elephant’. We have lots of exciting learning opportunities planned! We will be dressing up in bright Elmer colours with the rest of the school on Friday 8th March. To celebrate World Book Day parents are invited to come into Reception to share a story with their child on the afternoon at 2.30pm.

Pancake Day is next Tuesday! Please bring a small named pan and one pancake.
