EYFS

Thursday 6th June

Dear Parents and Carers,

READING BOOKS

Children need to read regularly in order to build their confidence and fluency. By this point in the year they should be reading at least 3 books a week. We feel that some children are not fulfilling their potential because of lack of practice at home. We are having a reading challenge each week for the next four weeks. If children read at least three times each week they will receive a reading challenge sticker and if they keep this up for the full four weeks they will receive a small prize. Please remember to sign in the red reading record when they have read and to bring reading folders every day. Please also let us know when your child is able to read and write the words on their ‘Tricky Word’ bookmark so that we can give them the next one.

SUN SAFETY

Our children can choose to work outdoors for large portions of the day and need to have adequate sun protection. Please can children bring a sun hat or cap to school and also have sun cream applied before they come to school. Unfortunately we may have to keep children inside if they are not adequately protected. We need to work together to keep your children safe.

PE KIT

This half term we will be aiming to do PE outside. The school PE kit is available from the Emblematic Shop or a plain white T-shirt and black shorts, which can be kept for the half term, in a named bag on their peg. Your child will also need a pair of trainers, outdoor PE lessons will be on a Tuesday and our EYFS Sports Day will be on Tuesday 16th July.
