Friday 8th November

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you have all had a nice break and are ready for the busy half term leading up to Christmas. We are going to start by focusing our activities on Seasons. Attached is a web of a few ideas that we are hoping to cover this half term, depending on where the children’s interests lead.

Reading Folders and water bottles

We would like children to bring their reading folder and water bottle to school every day. Please keep your child’s homework folder in their red reading bag. The work needs to be done by Thursday and we will set a new task on Fridays. This term the children will also be able to take a ‘Maths Busy Bag’ home on alternate weeks.

Working Outdoors

Early Years children have free access to our outdoor provision, please make sure they are dressed appropriately for the weather – named hats, scarves, gloves etc.

Secret Readers

Both classes have loved having surprise ‘Secret Readers’ in. We still have some dates available to read to the children at 2.45 on Monday afternoons.

Receptions WOW Celebrations

We would like to invite parents, carers and grandparents to our Reception WOWs which will take place on Fridays at 2.45. It’s a busy half term but we hope to be having them on 22nd  and 29th November and then continuing after Christmas. It is an opportunity for the children to share their achievements in and out of school. Next Friday, 15th, we will be joining in with the school celebrations for Children in Need at 9am.

Books Before Bedtime

The children are avid readers this year, and love our Core Books. We are hoping that all children take part in our fun book reading event. Please ask if you would like to borrow an extra library book or two!
